Modus Website
Modus is a finance consulting and bookkeeping firm that partners exclusively with purpose-driven businesses. Their existing website — a single-scroll splash page built during a non-compete period — couldn't communicate what they actually do or who they do it for. We built a full website that leads with clarity on their services and uses their ethical stance as a natural filter.

The Challenge
Modus had been operating for over a year with a splash page that deliberately obscured their services due to a founder’s non-compete agreement. Now free to speak openly, they needed a site that could do two things at once: establish credibility as serious financial professionals serving businesses up to $20M in revenue, and actively repel prospects whose only goal is maximizing profit at any cost. The existing page had no service descriptions, no clear customer journey, and no way to distinguish their two distinct offerings — retainer consulting and custom bookkeeping — from one another.
The Solution
The homepage doesn’t just introduce Modus — it qualifies visitors before they ever reach out. “Impact First. Profit Follows” leads the page, followed immediately by a clear statement of who Modus doesn’t work with. Most consultants bury their values on an About page. This site uses them as a filter, saving Modus from discovery calls with clients who were never a fit.
The structure mirrors how their ideal clients actually think. A small business owner wondering “do I need a bookkeeper or a strategist?” lands on the homepage and self-selects into the right service path within seconds. Dedicated pages for Bookkeeping & Automation and Strategic Consulting speak in plain language — not finance jargon — so owners without financial backgrounds understand exactly what they’re getting and what it costs them to wait.
Every design decision ties back to conversion. The gradient that runs through the site isn’t decorative — it creates visual continuity that guides the eye toward calls to action. Typography and spacing were chosen for readability on mobile, where most of their traffic lands. The Insights section replaces a traditional blog with a publishing hub built for SEO — giving Modus a way to answer the questions their ideal clients are already Googling.
The site was built on WordPress with growth in mind. The architecture supports client portal functionality, gated resources, and Motion AI integration as their bookkeeping automation scales — none of which exist yet, but none of which will require a rebuild when they’re ready.
What looks like a website is actually a sales system. It qualifies leads, educates prospects, builds trust through content, and makes the next step obvious. Modus can now focus on serving clients instead of explaining what they do.
