2025 Detroit Boat Show

by | Feb 18, 2025

Look, there’s something special about Detroit’s love affair with boats. We hit the 2025 Detroit Boat Show at Huntington Place this February, and holy smokes – what a turnout!

Picture this: Over 600 boats under one roof, from sleek motor yachts to family-friendly pontoons. But the real scene-stealer? Sharks. Real ones. Right in the middle of Detroit winter! We captured some incredible moments of these magnificent creatures swimming with their diving buddy (who, by the way, has better comedic timing than most stand-up comics). The best part? Watching kids’ faces light up as they got to reach out and actually touch stingrays in a safe, controlled environment.

Scroll through our gallery to see how we documented this massive celebration of Michigan’s boating culture. From dream-worthy vessels to sharks swimming in the D – because where else but Detroit would you find that mix?

Today their networking group is called IT in the D, and it’s responsible for organizing massive semi-annual gatherings for a specific set of job seekers – impacting more than 1,000 tech professionals so far. The next event – a “Pink Slip Party” – is Thursday in downtown Detroit.
